Evgenia Charitonidou is currently serving as Laboratory Assistant Teaching Staff at the Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She received a B.Sc. with a specialization in Food Technology from the Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, Greece. From 1987 till 1991 worked in the Lab. of Dairy Technology and since 1992 works in the Lab. of Food Microbiology and Hygiene of the Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her duties are (i) the preparation and teaching of the practicals in the courses of Dairy Microbiology, Food Hygiene and Toxicology and Hygiene of Food Industries, (ii) the technical support of the graduate and post graduate students in their dissertation, (iii) participation in research programs. Her interests are the microbial study of traditional dairy products, the isolation and classification of microorganisms and the study of their technological and probiotic properties. She is also responsible for the culture collection of the laboratory of Food Microbiology and Hygiene. She has published 1 paper in peer-reviewed scientific journal and has 25 citations.
